Slimbridge
The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT)

This internationally renowned Reserve at Slimbridge is the headquarters of the WWT and was the realization of Sir Peter Scott's vision in 1946 when he realised how many thousands of geese depended on the shores of the Severn Estuary for their survival and well-being. Located close to the reserve is Rectory Park thereby making it the perfect base from which to explore the delights of the reserve.
Today with its award-winning visitor centre overlooking nationally and internationally protected wetlands, this site is an important wintering area for migrating water-birds such as Bewick's Swans and houses WWT's species conservation programme.
